In February 2006, the Ukraine“s production of cast, rolled, blown or drawn, sheet or profiled glass fell by 30.8% compared with February 2005, to 0.5 million square meters, and by 8.7% on January 2006, according to figures from the State Statistics Committee. In January-February, production of these types of glass was down by 32% on January-February 2005, to 1 million square meters. For 2005, production fell by 4.3% compared to 2004, to 8.7 million square meters. Cast, rolled, blown or drawn glass features relatively low surface quality and considerable optical distortion. It is used where optical distortion is of no importance or in decorative applications.
