In November 2006, the Ukraine“s soda ash exports fell by 17.8% or 9,707 tons compared to November 2005, to 44,799 tons; revenue from exports fell by 15.3% or USD 1.246 million to USD 6.899 million, according to the Ukraine“s State Statistics Committee. In November 2006, soda ash exports rose by 7.6% or 3,146 tons, compared to October 2006. Russia was the major importer of Ukrainian soda ash in November with 59.8% of the total volume of soda ash exports. In January-November 2006, soda ash exports fell by 4.8% compared to January-November 2005, to 441,355 tons for USD 68.479 million (463,390 tons for USD 66.125 million in January-November 2005). The Crimean soda plant (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea) is the only producer of the exported soda (A brand).
