A report by Washington, D.C.-based Solar Energy Industries Association ranked Ohio second in the nation for its solar-panel manufacturing output during the first quarter of 2011. According to the organization, Ohio produced 66 megawatts of photovoltaic panels in the first quarter, an increase of 50% compared to the same period a year ago. The quarterly boost for the state was reportedly helped by Willard & Kelsey Solar Group LLC in Perrysburg near Toledo, which started production in January.
