Verallia to renovate Furnace 31 of its Lonigo plant, Italy

Renovation of Furnace 31 in Verallia‘s plant in Lonigo, Italy: a step forward that cuts CO2 emissions.

The Italian plant has replaced the old dense oil furnace with a methane gas furnace, reducing CO2 emissions and other pollutants.

Additionally, a system for preheating raw materials has been prepared to be subsequently installed, which will lead to gas consumption savings and further CO2 emissions reduction.

More than a renovation, it’s a collaborative effort involving 52 companies.

Serving mainly AG-coloured bottles in the wine and oil segments, Furnace 31 will also pave the way for new technological advances and more efficient packaging.
