On June 15, 2024, Vetropack was honoured with the coveted WorldStar Award for its Echovai bottle – the first returnable bottle made of tempered lightweight glass. Echovai was among the winners in the “Packaging Material & Components” category. The WorldStar Award Ceremony took place in Bangkok, Thailand, during ProPak Asia 2024, the premier processing & packaging exhibition for Asia.
The use of Echovai technology achieves a weight savings of around 30 percent for glass containers compared to standard glass bottles while also offering greater robustness and less scuffing. In Austria, 0.33 litre Echovai returnable bottles were introduced in 2024 as an environmentally friendly standard solution for the local brewing industry.
