Through a 21 million EUR investment, Furnace 2 in the Llodio plant, in Spain, is now one of the most advanced of its kind.
Cutting-edge engineering, automation and refractory solutions enable a world class energy-efficient process and a more sustainable operation.
New state-of-the-art forming machines in the hot-end and inspection and palletizing equipment in the cold-end now allows a better process control, with maximum flexibility, in a much more people-friendly environment, that opens the door to the first collaborative robots in this plant.
This is a significant milestone for Aiala Vidrio, part of  Vidrala, and a true example of Industry 4.0, where the assurance of sustainability, quality, flexibility and ergonomics are essential.
