Vitro Architectural Glass has officially launched Acuity™ low-iron glass
Vitro’s new low-iron glass offers competitive upgrade to conventional clear glass for vision glass applications and truer rendition of coloured spandrel glass panels.
Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) has officially launched Acuity™ low-iron glass, a competitively priced upgrade to conventional clear glass that offers superior clarity for vision glass applications and truer rendition of coloured spandrel glass panels.
Glenn T. Miner, director of construction, Vitro Architectural Glass, said Acuity glass is versatile enough to meet a range of project demands. “Acuity® glass eliminates the green cast that is inherent to clear glass, enabling architects to enhance views and provide a more brilliant aesthetic without compromising project budgets,” he explained. “It also is available with any product in the full line of Solarban® solar control, low-emissivity (low-E) coatings to limit solar heat gain and maximize energy performance.”
Vitro Glass has published an Acuity glass brochure with detailed product descriptions for Solarban60, Solarban 67, Solarban 72, Solarban 90 and Solarban R100 glasses. The booklet also provides information about applications and fabrication capabilities. A sample kit comparing Acuityglass and conventional clear glass side-by-side, each with Solarban 60 coating, also can be pre-ordered at www.vitroglazings.com/acuity.
Acuity glass is available through members of the Vitro Certified™ Network. Standard production sizes for coated and uncoated Acuity glass are 96-by-130, 100-by-144 and 130-by-204 inches.
