The Mexican Association of Containers and Packaging (AMEE), on top of its mission to create synergies with the main participants of the container and packaging industry, (users, manufacturers and professionals) by giving them technical and market support to meet their expectations, each year recognizes the efforts of its members to develop creative, original and quality products. Vitro won 46 Awards in the Stellar Container 2011 Contest sponsored by AMEE which recognizes the originality, variety of materials, care for the environment, cost efficiency of the containers and packaging, as well as emphasis on exporting. The company also received the prestigious 2011 Sustainable Container Platinum Award. For 13 years AMEE has recognized the creativity and innovation as well as the quality and care in developing sustainable products that Vitro puts into the creation of its containers. On this occasion Vitro participated with 49 containers for wine, liquor, food, cosmetics and beverage containers that were produced for customers such as Coca – Cola, Nestl, Brown Forman, Belcorp, Fuller, Avon, Grupo Modelo, Grupo Herdez Del Fuerte, among others. We are very proud of the 46 containers that were awarded prizes; these achievements motivate us to renew our commitment to our customers to offer excellence in our products and services, expresses Roberto Romero, Marketing vice president for the Glass Containers business unit. In addition to the Packaging Star Award, Vitro has achieved in previous years, awards for Ecological Packaging, Star Award for Export Containers and Sustainable Packaging. For the 2011 Edition, the company was selected as the winner of the Platinum Sustainable Container Award, which means that the company has the highest levels of sustainable development in their processes and products. Our role is not only to offer the design for the packaging, but also provide a comprehensive service, from analysis of market trends, conceptualization, physical, and virtual prototyping and manufacturing of the container, complemented by the creation of strategies for the development of promotional and point of sale material for the marketing of the final product, says Romero.
