Wiegand-Glas installed its first in-house waste glass processing plant 50 years ago.
The company has early recognised waste glass as an indispensable raw material for the production of new glass bottles and glass containers. Recycling waste glass has therefore been a top priority at Wiegand-Glas for half a century, because this is how the company reduces the use of primary raw materials, waste and CO2 emissions.
A film team from Hessischer Rundfunk (Hessian broadcasting) visited Wiegand-Glas at their waste glass processing plant to learn more about the extensive process of recycling glass. The video article highlights how it works and, above all, how proper recycling works. This included information on what to throw into the waste glass container or not and how new bottles are made out of waste glass.
The informative video is still available on the Hessischer Rundfunk website.
