Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited – one of the world’s leading integrated glass manufacturers and also the sixth largest industrial group in China – has shown interest in investing USD 200 million in Bangladesh.
Cheng Gang, Xinyi’s Head of International Business Development, made the proposal while meeting with Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China, Mahbub Uz Zaman. The glass manufacturer is seeking 65 acres of land close to a port or seashore, and is proposed plant to produce 38,000 tonnes of floating glass annually.
The investment is expected to generate an annual revenue around USD 95 million and create 400 jobs for local workers.
