Xinyi Solar Completes 150 MW Project

Xinyi has connected a 150 megawatt ground-mounted solar project in Anhui, China, to the electrical grid.

Xinyi Solar, a photovoltaic glass manufacturer based in China, has finished connecting a 150 megawatt ground-mounted solar project in Anhui, China, to the electrical grid. The project entered the construction phase back in late April and was finished towards the end of August, before entering the beginning phases of operation.
“We are pleased that the solar farm in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province has joined the power grid and started generating electricity. Together with two solar farms in Wuhu, Anhui and Nanping, Fujian, the Group expects that ground-mounted solar farms generating around 280 megawatts of electricity will be completed by the end of 2014,” stated Xinyi Solar chairman Lee Yin Yee. “As for the solar power distribution program, the group is installing roof-top solar power panel systems in Wuhu and Anhui factories with a capacity of around 33.1 megawatts.
“The Group is continuing to evaluate and develop solar farm for both ground-mounted and distribution generation system in order to further develop downstream operations, create synergies with upstream operations and ultimately generate more profit for the Group,” he concluded.
Xinyi Solar is one of the largest solar PV glass manufacturers in the world. The company produces ultra-clear photovoltaic raw glass and ultra-clear photovoltaic processed glass. The company supplies products to major solar product component manufactures both domestically and internationally.
