Greek glassware manufacturer Yioula Glassworks announced its withdrawl from the buyout of Serbian glassworks Srpska Fabrika Stakla (SFS), it was reported on 28 January 2005. SFS, located in Paracin, central Serbia, manufactures glassware products and has an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes. Yioula Glassworks was the sole bidder for SFS but its offer was rejected by the Serbian Government. Set up 1947, Yioula Glassworks produces around 95,000 tonnes of glass containers per annum in a variety of shapes, designs and colours from its glass melting furnace and four shaping lines. Yioula Glassworks has production activities in Bulgaria and Romania. The company closed 2004 with a pre-tax profit of EUR 15 million (USD 19.5 million) and sales of EUR 145 million (USD 189 million).
